| Professional activities: | Since 2006 - Member of the 9th Saeima 2002-2006 – member of the 8 th Saeima 1998–2002 Member of the 7 th Saeima of the Republic of Latvia 1997-1998 – member of Riga City Council 1983-1993 assistant chief of Schools’ Administrative Board;assistant chief of the National education administrative board;assistant chief of the National inspection administrative board;head of the Department on national minorities’ schools in the Ministry of Education of Latvia;- active participation in national minorities schools’ organization;- working youth’s training, new type schools’ creation;- prevention of minors’ delinquency;- lectures for pedagogues at the Republican Institute for- training of teachers. 1993-1998 – founder and director of the private college of general education “Eureka”, the director of the foundation “Parents to Children”. Thirty-two scientific publications and more than seven hundreds articles in the press; Author and co-author of ten educational books, published in Latvia (two of them were republished in Moscow) 2000 – silver medal of Cambridge international biographic centre (Great Britain) for “For the Achievements in the 20th Century” 1997, 2000 – the 2nd place and laureate of the Valeria Seile pedagogic and methodic works competition 1997 – doctor of Pedagogy 1985 – the status of “Excellent member of public education of the USSR” 1983 - the status of “Excellent member of public education of the LSSR” |
